Loving Old Violet

Have we met yet?  I’m a wonderful 18th century colour (proper English, of course!) used for painting the insides of furniture . . .

. . . like the lining of a vintage jacket . . .

. . . or silky lingerie dressed up with old lace . . .

. . . or for using as a base with Paris Grey and Old White to provide colour on top and distressed . . .

. . . of course, I’m wonderful on my own, like this chest with some pattern across the drawers . . .

You really should meet me some time.

This is like a J.. Peterman or a VINTAGE Banana Republic catalogue all rolled around with paint and furniture. You’re talkin’ my literate, historically correc, language.

To Quote myself: “Many things go in and out of vogue but great aesthetics are never, ever out of style.” Helen Ryan, decorative artist, writer, history geek 1991.

    You’re just plain Fab.

    Best regards,

    Hel R.
